Rocamadour is small clifftop village in south-central France. It is known for Cite Religieuse complex of religious bulidings, the chapelle, Notre-Dame, with its black Modonna statue, and the romanesque-gothic Basilique Saint-Sauveur, many of the buildings appear to defy gravity as they seem to cling to the cliff face. the village dates back to prehistoric times and was a destination of medieval pilgrimage.
