This charming stone village is in an open position on a hill between Val di Chiana and Val d'Orcia. Still surrounded by old walls and including this gatehouse, the village probably owes its name to the workers of the cloth whom the Romans called the 'fullones' because they were subject to the heavy blows of the hammers driven by the water mills.
